It’s well-known, and proven, that smoking is life-threatening and yet millions of us still
haven’t kicked the habit. What you or your colleagues may have overlooked is that
smoking saps energy too.
This simple addiction overshadows everything a smoker does from waking to sleeping
and it has a tremendous impact not simply on personal wellbeing but also performance
in the workplace.
At energiseYou, we believe that Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking seminars are the best in the business and we have a 30 minute presentation to show anyone interested in attending a seminar. We’ll explain how this approach to quitting smoking is different from anything people have tried before. We’ll also tell you how it is achievable to stop smoking easily, instantly and permanently, without putting on weight or craving cigarettes again.
FREEDOM - as a smoker practically every thought in your head is in someway overshadowed by the fact that you are a smoker. Something simple like going out for dinner is turned into a military exercise. Have I got enough cigarettes to last for the evening? Should I go and get some more? Do I have the money on me? Where's the nearest cashpoint? Can I smoke at their house? Will anyone else there be a smoker? It is so lovely to quit smoking and no longer be concerned with any of those things.
CONFIDENCE - When you smoke your confidence is constantly under attack. Repeated failed attempts to quit smoking, snide comments from non or ex smokers, feeling controlled by the cigarette all takes it's toll on our confidence. When you quit smoking your confidence gets a great boost and you feel a wonderful sense of achievement.
PEACE OF MIND - As a smoker there is a constant tug of war going on in your mind. Smoking is killing me but how can I live without it? It makes me so anti social when I go outside to smoke but I meet some interesting people in the smoking area. My family want me to quit smoking but I feel miserable without cigarettes. To end that constant battle in your mind is a great relief. You regain tranquility and feel so much calmer when you quit smoking.
HEALTH - Quite apart from the killer diseases linked to smoking it is really great when you quit smoking because within days of stopping you regain so much energy and you start breathing easier. Your sense of smell and taste return. You get some major health benefits when you quit smoking and you don't have to wait years before you feel better, it happens really quickly. It's like a dark shadow is lifted from the back of your mind.
MONEY - As smokers we tend to block our minds to the money side of smoking, we ignore the amount we spend on smoking but there is no denying that when you quit smoking your bank balance improves. Not only do we save on cigarettes but all the other incidentals that go with being a smoker. Medicines, higher insurance premiums etc. It is estimated that the average 20 a day smoker spends over £2,500 a year on smoking. That's more than £4,000 of gross income earned going up in smoke.
FAMILY - The strain that smoking puts on relations with our loved ones can be underestimated. Life is so much easier without the deceit and guilt we feel when we smoke. Children are learning younger and younger these days about the dangers of smoking and we feel enormous guilt about setting a bad example and not quitting for the sake of our children.
WORK - As smokers we regard the cigarette as a great way to get extra breaks at work but one of the main benefits when we quit is not having to constantly interrupt our working day by going out to top up our nicotine levels. Regaining your choice as to whether you want to go outside for your break is a great benefit of quitting.
SKIN - The UK’s Chief Medical Officer highlighted the link between smoking and wrinkled, damaged skin, in his 2003 annual report. The report noted that smokers’ skin can be prematurely aged by between 10 and 20 years. Further
deterioration can be avoided and a marked improvement in skin appearance can be aided simply by stopping smoking. Prevention is better than a cure, so it makes sense to stop damaging our skin now and reverse some of the damage already caused.
