MINDFULNESS – THE KEY TO HEALTH, ENERGY, HAPPINESS AND PERFORMANCE

Mindfulness truly is the key to the problems we face with our modern way of living.  It can help us to unlock the door to greater health, energy, happiness and performance. 

THE PROBLEM WITH THE MODERN WAY OF LIVING

1. Not being present in this moment

Our mind is constantly being drawn away from whatever we are doing in this moment.  The three biggest causes of this are:

Talking about the past or future

Thinking about the past or future

Technology distractions i.e. smart phones, tablets etc

These three are fine from time to time but most people are locked into one of these three most of the time.  We are so rarely fully focused in this moment.  In a nutshell we are out of balance.

2. Too many bad habits

The second part of the problem is that we are making an increasingly large number of decisions that are taking us in the opposite direction to health, energy, happiness and performance.  These small decisions turn into daily and weekly habits, which in turn drive our health, energy, happiness and performance.

THE PROBLEMS WITH MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness truly is the key to these problems and helps us to unlock the door to greater health, energy, happiness and performance.  The issue however is that mindfulness has a few challenges for many people:

1. Mindfulness originates from Buddhism over 2000 years ago and has a spiritual element, which for many can turn them off the subject.

2. Many mindfulness books seem to talk a lot about the concept of mindfulness yet fail to give people simple practical actions to apply this approach.

3. Most importantly these books often don’t give you a system to change to this new way of living.   And as the saying goes “change does not come easy” so understanding how to change is essential.

A MODERN TWIST – MINDFULNESS SIMPLIFIED

A totally new way to live your life which in turn completely changes what happens in your life and more importantly how you feel about what happens. 

Mindfulness simplified has 2 parts.

PART 1. Do one thing at a time and give it your 100% focus

Whatever you’re doing, whether that’s working on your laptop, eating, talking, cooking, exercising, meditating, reading, having a shower, hugging or whatever you are doing, do that one thing at a time and give that one thing all your focus.

PART 2. Being aware of the decisions you make

When your awareness is fully in this moment, it helps you to make decisions that positively serve your health, energy, happiness and performance.

When your awareness in not fully in this moment you find yourself running on a conditioned autopilot where more often than not your decisions do not serve you. 

 

So many of our decisions are made unconsciously. This can be driven by our environment, our life’s conditioning or the millions of pieces of data hitting our brains daily. 


Making decisions each day that serve you is key. Your decisions turn into your daily and weekly habits and your habits are the biggest driver in your health, energy, happiness and performance.

 

MINDFULNESS IN A NUTSHELL

Yes there are other elements to mindfulness, but if you can achieve this, 90% of your work is done.

Do one thing at a time and give it your 100% focus.  Have your full awareness in this moment, so you can make decisions that serve you and in turn create more habits that benefit your health, energy, happiness and performance.
